'DAKKY' STREET PHOTOGRAPHY
Some years ago I made an appeal in the Knottingley Digest magazine for readers to submit any photographs taken by a man known locally as 'Dakky [sic]. As you may be aware, some time during the 1930s a travelling photographer known by the name of 'Dakky' resided in the town for a brief period and through his camera he documented community life in
and around Knottingley. They make a wonderful collection of images giving us all an insight into community life during that period of time.
The images featured below are all believed to be the work of 'Dakky'.
