KNOTTINGLEY LAUNCHING

The 'ENERVITE' launched on Thursday is the 280th vessel to be launched at the shipyard of John Harker Ltd., Knottingley. An all welded single screw cod liver oil barge for Hull Cod Liver Oils (Feeding Stuffs) Ltd. It is 61 feet long and 18 feet broad.
The launching ceremony was performed by Mrs G.E Tunnicliffe, wife of the Managing Director of Marfleet Refining Co., Ltd. The vessel will be used in the Hull Fish Dock, its function being to transfer cod liver oils and oil from the trawlers to the shore refineries.

NOTES: Registered at Hull number 26 on 21st July 1967. A steel cargo barge with a six-cylinder Bergins Kelvin engine. Built by Harkers in 1967 for Hull Cod Liver Oil Ltd. Measurements 61.40ft x 18.05ft x 8.51ft, gross tonnage 80.75, register 42.14. Sold to Marfleet Refining Co. Ltd., on 4th April 1977
