Launch of Glaisdale H at John Harker's shipyard in Knottingley

TANKER LAUNCHED

The side launching of a 500 ton tanker built at Knottingley by John Harker Ltd., named 'GLAISDALE H' for use in the Bristol Channel, took place at the firms Knottingley shipyard last week. The ceremony was performed by Mrs. E.T. Walsh.

Registered at Hull number 26 on 23rd October 1961. A steel tanker barge with a 4-cylinder Ruston and Hornsby engine, built by Harkers in 1961. Measurements 135.05ft x 21.8ft x 11.25ft, gross tonnage 302.92, register 164.28. Managed by John H Whitaker (Tankers) Ltd., of Hull in 1980 and then broken up on 4th March 1987.
